Tiny House Pantry Storage

Hey Friend! I hope you are having a great week ๐Ÿ™‚ Today on the blog I’m going to be sharing how I not only manage but thrive with the amount of pantry storage I have in our 420 square foot tiny house. When we decided to build custom, I knew that great food storage was a BIG priority in our home given we are a family of four. It seems like my kiddos are eating non stop! Can anybody relate?! I came up with four main pantry food areas that work perfectly in our tiny house. Let’s dive in!

Number 1: Pull Out Pantry

From the outside it doesn’t look like this pull out pantry would hold much but looks can be deceiving. Pull it out and you will find all of the main items that I use day to day that I still want tucked away out of site. I do not keep any of my kids snacks in this pantry as that area is saved for another space. Why the mini eggs? Wellโ€ฆmy husband, Joel, is obsessed with them so he keeps a stash up high out of the kiddos reach haha!

Number 2: Dry Ingredients

This little ledge under the ladder to our loft is fully utilized by my dry ingredients storage. We keep our baking items and salad toppings here for easy access. Again, I was thinking about the items that I use day to day and making them more easily accessible. Of course I also had to prioritize this space being aesthetically pleasing as it is a main focal point of our kitchen and dining area.

Number 3: Bench Storage

The largest storage that I have for pantry items is our pantry storage that wraps in an โ€œLโ€ shape around our dining room table. This storage has been a life saver! I keep bulky items such as chips, paper plates & cups, overflow canned items that don’t fit in my pull out pantry and lots more! If you are considering building a custom tiny home, I recommend adding benches to your plan to optimize your storage.

Number 4: Under Couch

This one may seem silly but hear me outโ€ฆif you’re kids are anything like mine they are constantly needing a snack. Every day when we leave the house they are looking for a granola bar or a sucker to bring along on the road. So I made their snack spot very convenient to pull a quick snack on the way out the door, under the couch! I purchased a cute white box (because I’m not having something ugly that is the first thing I see when I walk in the front door ha!) that contains many snacks for them to choose from. I also picked up a turntable for easy grab and go snacks. I have linked up a similar option below.

I hope that the detailed outline of my pantry storage has given you a little behind the scenes on how it really is doable to live tiny and have space for everything you need, even with kids!

Have a great day my friend!
